Elementary and Middle School
The lower school campus consists of four classes incorporating the 1st & 2nd grades, 3rd & 4th grades, 5th & 6th grades, and 7th and 8th grades.
A thematic curriculum is documented
in a way that allows the student interest and emergent learning
to occur. Included in these studies are camping, Wisdom
of the Hands, PE, Music and Spanish. The students gain ownership
through this process. Study skills are taught and emphasized
through the use of Notebooks that develop in complexity
as the students move through the grades. The communication
between teachers integrates the curriculum across the classes
further developing the lower school community.
Opportunities outside the classroom between the grades enrich learning processes, social skills and conflict resolution. Camping, field trips and recess are opportunities for multi-age interaction. Altogether, these activities create cohesion and a sense of belonging to the school family.
