Environmental Education

There are many sites on campus for outdoor activities, and numerous field trips are taken throughout the year. Whenever possible science is taught in the field.  The local environment provides many diverse locations to study both physical and life sciences. Hikes are taken, river studies performed, and caves explored. Through camping and the travel curriculum many subjects are experienced on location, and academics are placed within their relevant positions.

“At Clear Spring School we do a lot of outdoor learning. We’ve gone spelunking in Whippoorwill Cave. We’ve even searched for the Ivory Billed Woodpecker in a Louisiana Swamp for two weeks. It was hot. It was miserable. It was fun.”
